Weekend in Vilnius

The tour itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Arrival in Vilnius and transfer to hotel. Dinner at a selected restaurant. Night out at a bar, club or concert of personal choice.

Day 2: Guided tour (3-4 hours) around Vilnius Old Town by car and foot to see and experience some of the gems of Lithuania, including The Cathedral, which was built in the 13th century at the base of Gediminas Castle Hill, Vilnius University (the oldest one in Eastern Europe), The Jewish Settlement, The Gate of Dawn Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother with its miraculous painting of St. Virgin Mary, The Gothic gem of St. Ann's Church with Baroque St. Bernardine's Church adjoined to it.

This is followed by a visit to the Republic of Uzupis, a district in Vilnius Old Town, and then the Amber Gallery.

Next is a coach trip to Trakai, the historical capital of Lithuania. Trakai is a small and cosy town 23 km from Vilnius on the peninsula, surrounded by three adjoining lakes. There is a visit to the famous Trakai castle-museum built in the 15th century on one of the islands and thus referred to as ‘The Castle on the Water'. Overnight stay in Vilnius.

Day 3: Guided tour (3-5 hours) to any one of the Lithuanian museum - The Museum of Genocide Victims in Vilnius, The Park of Europe - an open-air museum with works of famous international artists (15 km from Vilnius), Gruto Park - exposition of Soviet sculptures and museum of Soviet history in Lithuania located 90 km from Vilnius.

Guests return to the hotel and are then transferred to Vilnius International Airport for departure.
